Personal web presence (PWP) is a great use of technology to showcase an individual’s personal, academic and professional development. A great example of a PWP is Michelle Culpepper’s webpage, www.mculpper.webbly.com. Her webpage is designed to reflect her professional development and achievements. A PWP is a great way to showcase an individual’s strengths, philosophies and goals as a professional. When looking at Michelle’s page I knew that she was driven and passionate about Sports Administration. I liked how she used her pictures, videos and layout to reflect her professionalism. I also liked that her layout was organized in a tasteful manner and would like to use a similar layout in my personal PWP. She emphasized words by using different font sizes and colors that catches the eye of the reader. Just like Michelle’s PWP, I also want my PWP to reflect my professional development. On the other hand, I did not like that she used an unprofessional profile picture, since this website was a reflection of her professionalism. I also would have not chosen to include my home address. Some information such as phone numbers and home addresses need to be kept private. Also, I would not copy her “about me” section, since I find it confusing and it lacks focus.
